Humble Beginnings
Somewhat ironically, SeceuroGlide Garage Doors began in a garage in the Northwest of England, back in 1985. Their founder and original Managing Director of SWS UK (the manufacturer of SeceuroGlide) saw a gap in UK home security following a trip to other European countries. He realised that European homeowners were using compact aluminium roller shutters as an effective and discreet method of home security and was keen to introduce the concept to the UK. While roller shutters continue to be popular for securing homes, it was the introduction of SeceuroGlide that really caught the attention of British homeowners.
When SeceuroGlide launched the Original back in 1997, it was the first roller garage door to be created for the domestic market. Its space-saving design and contemporary looks combined perfectly with clever, roller shutter technology and proved an instant hit with homeowners looking to secure their garage with a quality, robust door.
Following the success of the Original, SeceuroGlide developed the range with the UK’s first low-headroom insulated roller garage door; the SeceuroGlide Compact in 2001. But it was the introduction of the SeceuroGlide Excel in 2007 that cemented their reputation as garage door innovators.
Another industry first, the revolutionary SeceuroGlide Excel was, at the time, the only roller garage door to be both Secured by Design and insurance approved with the LPS 1175 burglary resistance standard, following independent testing by the LPCB.
In 2010 SeceuroGlide used their knowledge and expertise to develop SeceuroGlide Sectional Garage Doors. With the same core values as our roller garage door range, SeceuroGlide Sectionals are quickly being recognised as the number one choice for quality and pioneering design.
Today, SeceuroGlide Garage Doors continue to lead the way in advanced design and innovative technology.
